English version
Nathalie is an artist with a story. In the Netherlands she is known from her
performances during Idols 4. In Africa she is known for being a member of one
of the biggest gospel bands, Makoma. But Nathalie is more then an energetic
diva with a great voice. She is a sweet, shy personality as well. On stage she
becomes someone else who isn’t afraid of anything.
Youth
Nathalie was born on the
24th of February in Kinshasa (DR Congo) as the youngest of a family with
six children. For political reasons she is forced to flee to the Netherlands.
In her younger years she moves to Germany. With her brothers and sisters she
forms the Makoma band. They are very successful in Germany but also in other
European countries.
Gospel success
When Nathalie is fourteen she moves back to the Netherlands and starts an
education in Onstage Performance at the Rockacademie in Tilburg. At the same
time the Makoma band keeps on becoming more successful and travels around the
whole world. In Africa they win an African Music Award for the best Gospel
Group of Africa. Due to the success, Nathalie is forced to quit her education.
In 2004 Nathalie decides to stop with the
Makoma Band and starts working at a ‘normal’ job. She works in England and
later on in Ireland. In 2007 Nathalie returns to the Netherlands. Still she is
hoping for a career in the music world.
Idols
One day Nathalie receives a phone call from a cousin. She subscribed Nathalie
for the television talent contest Idols. Nathalie is very nervous but also
excited to join the competition. Against all her expectations she knows how to
convince the jury and later on the audience in the Netherlands. The jury calls
her the new Tina Turner and a real dancing queen. Nathalie makes it to the
finals and becomes second of Idols 2008.
After Idols Nathalie gets a record deal at one of the biggest record labels in
the Netherlands, Sony BMG. With her Idols colleagues Nikki and Charlene she
gives a tour through the Netherlands. The three artists give away over 150
shows in four months time.
Single release
Nathalie's first single 'I Won't Forget' is a great dance single. This song was
also remixed by former nr. 1 of the world; DJ Paul van Dyck and was also included on the Dance4Life album.
At this moment her second single is out. 'I just wanna dance' is a great R&B, Pop, Dance track with an
uptight beat. Dancetunes and Nathalie's voice are a wonderful combination!
Nathalie's new manager is Paul Johnson who has worked within the world of music for over 25 years and now will bring Nathalie to a new level.
